A French Guide To National Wine & Cheese Day
June 25this National Wine and Cheese Day, a day that the French can definitely get behind, considering that waking up every day is reason enough for us to enjoy wine and cheese. The timing is perfect, because at Eiffel Tower Restaurant, we just rolled out our new Chef’s Selection of Cheeses, with 7 cheeses to choose from. If you love cheese as much as we do, you won’t want to miss out. Selections range from Brillat Savarin, a soft ripened cow cheese from France, to Midnight Moon, a hard aged goat cheese from California, with flavors of brown butter and salty caramel. Try something a little different and order the Barely Buzzed out of Utah, a firm cow cheese rubbed with coffee and lavender. If you prefer cheeses made from sheep’s milk, we have a Camembert out of New York and San Andreas out of California. Accoutrements are selected by our Chef, and may include fig and olive crackers, fresh honeycomb, pickled grapes, or candied pecans.
Of course, if you are taking in our breathtaking view and nibbling on some cheese, the experience would not be complete without wine. The fun part is that there are so many options when you are pairing cheese with wine. Champagne is always a great choice, as it pairs well with almost anything, and let’s be honest – who doesn’t love bubbles? But almost any wine will play well with cheese, so whether you choose a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, or Bordeaux, delightful things are on the horizon for your palate.
Join us at Eiffel Tower Restaurant for Lunch or Dinner in our dining room, or in our beautiful bar, and enjoy the wonderful world of wine & cheese. Santé!
